Lawn renovation

We carry out lawn renovations in Autumn when soil temperatures are warm and more rain fall is around therefore making the perfect conditions for new grass seed establishment. The process includes:

 

  • Targeted moss/weed application (if required).

  • Scarification to remove thatch and moss.

  • Hollow tine aeration to open up soil, improve drainage, ease compaction and allow air/water and nutrients into the soil.

  • Top dressing to improve soil using fine organic matter.

  • Overseed with grass seed cultivars best suited for your lawn.

  • Raking and lute level to fill any hollows. 

  • Pre seed fertilizer applied to aid establishment.

New lawn services

In some cases a lawn may be past its best due to thick thatch layer or maybe overrun with weed grasses and the best course of action is to replace the lawn. Our process includes:

​

  • Applying herbicide to kill off existing turf/weeds & weed grasses (if required).

  • Removing the old turf with a turf cutter or digger depending on the size of the lawn.

  • Adding quality topsoil to improve the growing conditions.

  • Cultivating the soil using a rotavator. Either pedestrian machine or tractor mounted.

  • Levelling the area.

  • Applying quality grass seed best suited to your lawn.

  • Applying pre seed fertilser to aid establishment.

Re seeding

Bare patches of lawn can be caused by numerous factors general wear, disease or pests. Reseeding infills bare, thin or worn areas of grass to produce a thicker sward of grass. We use fine grass cultivars that are more disease tolerant.
